Setting Up APN for Your Flytaro SIM Card (Android)
If your Android phone shows mobile signal but can’t access the internet, setting the APN manually usually fixes it. Most phones configure the Flytaro APN automatically, but some Android devices need it set by hand. This guide shows you how, step by step. iPhone users don’t usually need to set the APN manually.
When You Need This
Try manual APN setup if all of the following are true:
- You have an active Flytaro data plan
- Mobile Data and Data Roaming are both turned on
- Your phone shows mobile signal but you can’t access the internet
- Restarting your phone hasn’t helped
Step 1: Find Your APN
The correct APN depends on which country you’re in. You can find it in two ways:
- Log in to your Flytaro account, go to My SIMs, click View details on your active SIM, and check the plan details for the APN.
- Or contact our support team with your destination country, and we’ll send you the APN.
The APN is usually a short text value, for example: my3g.
Step 2: Add the APN on Your Phone
Exact menu names vary by phone brand and Android version, but the general path is:
- Open Settings.
- Go to Mobile Network (or Network & Internet, then Mobile Network).
- Select your Flytaro SIM.
- Tap Access Point Names (sometimes labeled APN).
- Tap New APN or the + icon to create a new APN.
Step 3: Fill in the APN Details
You only need to fill in two fields. Leave everything else as default.
- Name: Anything you like — for example, “Flytaro”
- APN: The value you found in Step 1
Tap Save.
Step 4: Activate the New APN
After saving, return to the APN list. Select the new APN you just created (a radio button or check mark will appear next to it) to make it active.
Wait 1–2 minutes. Your phone should now connect to the internet. If it doesn’t, try restarting your phone — this forces it to register with the new APN.
Can’t Find the APN Settings on Your Phone?
The exact location of APN settings varies by manufacturer. If you can’t find it, search online for “your phone model + how to add APN” — every Android phone has these settings, but the path may differ.
